2 Kirkwood players called to represent country

Kirkwood Soccer Club is delighted to announce that two former members of the club were selected to attend US National Team camps this January.

Antony Fontana is in Florida with the U-18 national team in preparation for a trip to Argentina in March. Anthony is one of 3 former Kirkwood players currently with the Philadelphia Union Academy. The others are Justin Bajek and Kalil Elmedkhar.

Earlier this month, On the girls side, former Kirkwood player Alyssa Poarch was one of 26 players called into the WNT U-17 camp in preparation for qualifications for the U-17 World Cup to be held in Jordan in October, 2016.

“It is a wonderful achievement for any player to be called in for a national camp experience. Of course all at Kirkwood are terrifically proud to have been part of their development as younger players and wish them the very best with their teams” commented Kirkwood Boys DOC, Ian Hennessy.
